It seems like a cheap, easy mod so I am wondering if its actually worth the $50. Would I notice much of a difference? Eventually I will be dropping to a 3.4" pulley once I get more supporting mods...

No.

It was a rage long ago but over time it's been found to not really provide any benifit. I wouldn't spend $50 on one.

I have one it came free with my PCM and it's still sitting on the shelf.

i have a tapped one for my zex kit but im plugging it to use as a spacer for my HV TB....it blocks the coolent from heating up the TB so at least it gets cooler intake temps....not really a noticable gain mod

I dont care what you use yours for, I was telling the OP that it wasnt worth it to him to block the passages with a spacer when he can buy JB weld for a fraction of the cost

set screws are screws with no head. they are usually allen heads. The screw fits completely in the hole so things can slide by.

To use em you tap the coolant passages and insert the set screw. This will keep the coolant from flowing and you lessen the chances of your epoxy/JBweld etc from breaking off and causing issues.
