I was just wondering whether or not GP's had tire pressure monitors or not. I know that Grand Am GT's have the little low tire pressure light and i never saw one on my car... just thought the Prix's should have them if the GA's do?! Also, i was sittin in a drive through today and it was real sunny outside and i noticed that on my instrument cluster next to the RPM there was a light that said "Perf Shift" What is that? i have never seen it before and i looked in the owners manual but it wasn't back there. Is it a GTP thing or what?

I believe tire pressure monitors were available on the 97-98's, or just the 97's.

Perf shift was available on some year models, not sure exactly when they discontinued the button.
Your car is an 02, your PCM controls when and how much "perf shift" is activated.

I think the tire pressure thing was only in the 97's.

im not a fan of "idiot lights" you should be able to keep an eye on your tires, and i see the GP as a much better-more performance of the GA, so thats probably why the GA have them... for the driver that cant keep an eye on something as simple as the tires.... i jsut wish we has a oil preasure guage, and volt guage, and some others, i like to know EXACTLY what is going on under the hood before its too late, and not just have an "idiot light" if it gets to a certain point....

My 97 has the low tire pressure light and the thing is pretty much worthless it won't set it off until the tire is MUCH lower than I would feel comfortable driving on it so it pretty much just gives stupid people a false sense of security.

My wife's van has it...it's so sensitive that it will go off if any tire is 2 lbs low. Always seems to happen on long trips. lol
