Warm air vs cold air. Cold air will win every time.

That's the key word "Think". Unless you really have a sit down with some equipment and keep your variables constant enough to test thign like this, we can just assume, with some help of others that say one way or another due to some research on intakes, that cooler air in is better than ramming air in, because you have to adjust parameters either way, but I think cooler air will take less adjustments than ramming air into your engine.

This subject will surface time and time again,but I think a design like the K&N system may be the best compromise a short large tube with a large filter and shielding from some engine heat ,but again there is probably only a few hp difference in the available products your money your choice but buy a quality large filter not some knock off.Chico.
