Torque Thrust "M":
"Bullitt":
Crager "SS":
Crager "SS" rims have been around since the 50's believe it or not.
All three wheels are very similar in shape, but are all made by differant comapnies so no one company will admit if they copied the other.
I guess you could say they are copies of either the Torque Thrust or the Crager SS. I just always felt they looked more like the Thrusts than the SS's personally.
(I actually owned a set of 1960's magnesium Torque Thrusts at one point on my 1980 Grand Prix (had a 301 V8...slow as hell!), those rims weighed in about 2lb each. Had a set of 14x7 for the fronts and a set of 14x10's in the back with some crazy 11" wide slicks I found at a garage sale for $5.00 each!. I had to put washers behind the rim so the tires wouldn't rub, LOL..oh the stupid things we do as kids
I ended up selling them for a lousy $75.00...sigh, could probably get $500.00 or more these days for them)
"American Racing Equipment has re-introduced the original straight-spoke version of the Torq Thrust, the most recognized wheel in automotive history and an icon of vintage and muscle cars. Originally offered in magnesium in the early sixties, the Torq Thrust’s straight spoke silhouette, hailing from American Racing’s drag racing heritage, quickly became the most sought after design of its time."
