Top speed in a stock GTP is 126, governed my the PCM. I think top speed with out being governed is 141.
I had my slightly modded up to 150 before the PCM shut everything down. That was on a dyno. crazy

after seeing this question posted on a few different forums, collecting some data, this seems to be the general consensus...
Governor limited for GT/GTP is 121-126 (depending on who you ask)
The GTX and Pace Car Editions apparently had a more lenient top speed of 140-145 (again, depending on who you ask)
SE Governed at 104-110... I've gone 94, but no higher.
With an aftermarket PCM I believe the governor program is removed? Someone will correct me if that's wrong.
With the right mods, and without the governor, top speed would be until the tires explode or the engine goes boom crazy

A reprogrammed PCm does kill the limiter, but as I found out while on the dyno the pcm shuts down at 150mph.

Factory PCM on a GTP is 126. Remember there is error in the speedo the faster you go the greater the error. Besides our speedos only reach 115 while the HUD will read upto 199. My HUD is off by about 4-5 mph so. Take the top speed for what it's worth. I have heard of GTPs with a CAI, Autolite 104s, U bend delete and a DHP hitting over 140 on the open road. Crazy I tell you just crazy. I've had mine upto 120 and worried more about being busted then crashing. The car pulls hard upto that point then I let off. I think a stock GTP could easily get over 130 if the PCM would allow it.

I had my SE up to 110......give or take 1 or 2 mph. probably was right there where the governor was gonna shut it down

My stock GT bogged out at 110 b4 new PCM, now ive been up to estimated 130 something I cant tell after 115 my speedo dial just sags and looks like its gonna break. Possibly faster I dunno but I havent reached a max max speed that 130+ was against a camaro, the modded GT pulls really nice all the way up, I was really surprised at the response when I stomped it at 100+ with 2 people in the car. GP's seem to enjoy life at 100+ it has never struggled at all.

130-150 is plenty fast in a car with stock suspension etc tho really, all I can say is dont turn the wheel more than fractions of an inch at a time or your gonna be in alot of trouble real quick hehe.

Are you sure you were doing 110 before new PCM in a GT, I believe the engine shuts off at 104mph

No definately 110. I know this because the first time it bogged out I had no idea wtf was wrong with it so I watched the speedo to see if it was the limiter and sure enough it would cut off for a sec at 110 and then cut back on. Not 105, not 115 but 110. Herc said our speedos are a bit off tho so it might be 2 or 3 mph off.

I have a stock 2002 GT and according to my speedo, the limiter shuts it down at 105. Now in my 95 SE with a 3.1, it quits climbing at about 108.

Ive taken mine up to about 120-125mph before I fear for the tranny. I used to take my 93' LeBaron up to 120 until POOF, looked like someone put shotgun holes through it.

InitialDGP, did u notice a diffrence with the U-Bend delete in the GT?

I believe that Motor Trend said the top on a stock GT was 107, and that is what I have found mine to be. Annoying because I know she'll go faster, as unnecessary as that would be, itd be nice to know its there.

i see more of 125mph most of the time, but the top speed is 126mph.

some reason it will not run 126 all the time, but the last time i did it though, it showed 126 on the display.

i don't think i would want to go to much faster though in the gtp. it would take forever to get up to 150, if you could even get up to 150. the gear ratio has you hardly turning up any rpms going that fast or maybe that is the way the pcm is setup.
