Ok this isn't any mod or problem question its more of personal oppinion. I was having a conversation with some of my friends and they think that the grand prixs have no street credibility, that noone views them as a fast car mad mad mad mad mad That made me mad ofcourse cause i think there pretty giddy up fast... I mean any gtp or gt could beat most hondas.... so what does everyone think and what are your oppinions

Please add Mike

Well so far I have never lost to a Mustang GT. Have a lot of mods, but a 6 VS an 8, what are your friends looking for?
What kind of cars are your friends driving?

Well, not too many people respect them untill they have seen our cars first hand. I know my friend with a Mustang GT respects my car now and wants to show his other friends with Mustangs at Milan in the spring. Nobody really seems to know to much about our cars and many are intrigued when they see them. So if you want to change our image with somebody, race them.

i think the reason behind this is the great numbers of SE's out there in stock trim driving around with Dudly Doorites driving them,it gives us a bad image. devilgrin

I'm one of those SE drivers out there trying to not give GPers a bad image, and Dudly Doorite is not a description that fits me devilgrin
Honestly, I think alot of people - younger import-lovers especially - just don't know anything about our cars. One of my friends, who knows quite a bit about imports had the impression that GPs were super-heavy, low performance cars. He was surprised at what I got my SE to do, and I told him that he would crap his pants if he saw some of cars you guys own - especially the kind of numbers Chico pulls with his GT!

I think they don't know much because of the media hype that ricers have been labeled. They see images and think: "VTEC, oh s@#t that's fast!!!" and they don't realize the money, time and love that goes into the car. But, it sure is nice when you beat a ricer. devilgrin

I agree with Chico here GP's are many, in this area at least and its usually a, "baby the car till the wheels fall off" type person even in GTP's ive only met a few out of the hundreds ive seen that actually drive them quickly. Mine is a good deal faster than a GT and I dont tend to use it but when I need to its great, its alot faster than most cars youll see out there, and most people do underestimate gp's till they race one, but then theyre all nods and compliments after especially considering theyre heavy cars but they carry it pretty well. If someone is curious just hammer

What year and model was that 'vette you ran, GTP4life? Was it stick or auto? Did the guy know how to drive? C5's trap WAY higher than a lightly modded GTP, just wondering...

I was told by a GM service tech that stock PCM has a governor at 148, just thought that was odd yours went off at 126, not to piss anybody off, just that's what I heard, does anybody else know different!! hammer

The 04 may be governed to 148mph but 97-03 have a 126mph limiter.
