I just got a 2002 gp gt and its awsome. I got this car because it was a very sharp and clean looking car... but spending money on after market parts on it for performance is a big old waste. If you want speed go with an import not a grand prix..so for anyone out there who knows what after market products to make it look and sound awsome??? Mostly a sound system....
thoughts please..
And... are there any differences/upgrades from a 98' to a 02'??????

98 and 02 are pretty much the same, except I don't think Bose speakers were an option for 98. I could be wrong. Only the 97 and the 03 really have anything weird with them, and it's not too bad, just some little things.
And with all do respect, GPs have a considerable (and cheap) aftermarket performance market, and could blow the doors off of many imports, stock or modded for either party.

I agree with Arcxnus.. the aftermarket pricing on GPs is decent. Its availibility isnt as good as imports due to more then anything, Fast and the Furious imo.
Just because its imported dont mean its quick, my GTP is alot quicker then a buddy I work withs Civic (same yr) by his own admission.
As for the sound system, the Bose is actualy quite nice I found, decent sound to it on the ranges :p

http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix/products1.php?id=382 Over 250 whp and 300 wtq can be had with this setup, making it a 13 second car easily. Or.. add you can 5 hp to an Acura/Honda by adding a fart can and secret weapon intake system, and still run 17's in the 1/4 mile.

And... are there any differences/upgrades from a 98' to a 02'?????? Did you do any research on this car before you bought it. Not worth after market peformacne parts, you should of looked around before you said anything. There are guys on this site who can walk all over any imports out there. Other then Evos or WRXs which go for over 30k and are beast right out of the garage. So you should read up before you say anything.

I think you killed all your hopes of getting help on the subject in this topic. But to be a good sport, When it comes to the factory system its not bad, if you have abose its alot better then reg factory. If you want to chagne everythign out completly, I would go with JBLs, I have them in my car all GTO series speackers and the Crown series amps. In the front you can get a nice set of componet speakers, if you wanta nice look ge tthe kcikback panels for the doors. teh read you have a set of 4" speakers and 6x9 if get a nice set of 6x9s you dont't need the small 4" speakers so that saves you. As for subs I woudl go with Rockford Fosgate power series, they are the best and the sound is grat no matter what box you put them in. When doing a soudn system to the popint of setting off car alarms look ot the 1200-1500 range on a very good set up. adn as a side note, buy dynotmat and dynot mate the whoel trunk and aroudn all the speakers it stopes the rattles int he trunk and makes the sound more chrisp. heop this helps.
