HID's don't give off more heat, its a misconception. so they wouldn't melt anything. if anything, stock bulbs would have a higher chance of melting the housing than HIDs

no but they are closer to the projector because the bulb is longer... therefore that can melt the housing... Correct me if i'm wrong bcuz im just assuming right now but higher wattage = higher heat, HIDs have a higher wattage so they are hotter than stock bulbs

maybe im wrong but alot of ppl have the (right from the ZZP website) "misconception that the higher the K (Kelvin temperature) the brighter it gets, but infact, it is the opposite. The K rating is inversely proportional to the light output, therefore the lower the K the brighter the light output." now from my knowledge, you can use kelvin's to measure temp. 0 Kelvins is -273 degrees Celsius. 1K = 1* Celsius. so lower kelvins = lower temp. also taken from ZZP. "Drawing 35 watts, it runs cooler than typical hallogens and will not melt your housings." I believe the typical halogens are 55 watts. so it is actually using less watts and lower temps but giving off a brighter whiter light.

Kelvin is a measure of color temp, I don't think it has anything to do with the actual bulb temperature. Anyway, the brightest HID is around 3500k, or whatever is listed as bright white. The more blue you throw in, the worse the light output. But 5500k looks wonderful from an aesthetic point of view.

well even still, it only uses 35 watts and the typical halogens are 55. so that makes them run cooler.

So, we have one headlight bulb, why is there two circles in the housing?

Because you use two headlight bulbs with a projector. I assume they rigged it so you can use a separate high beam bulb if you feel like modifying your harness for it. Sounds good to me, even if the price is steep.

So therefore, you can't really put in your bulbs and call it a day. You have to rewire to use this housing or what?

You could just leave it unused... It's there if you want to use it. Besides, you'd have to do something to utilize the angel eyes anyway.
