Although I dont thk were the first to find these cause I had seen a pic of a car with these same exact lenses and i thought to myself how is this possible? Well no wonder, some people already have em and of course today i hear about them actually coming out and for sale...neat. I may wait of course for them to come down in price, maybe ill wait till summer to get a set. Hopefully the price will be down a lil bit.

Big question...Will moisture be a big issue in these headlamps aswell? I mean I would hate to pay 300 dollars and then a few months later or even a few weeks later find out that I have moisture in my amazing new projector lenses. I know moisture is a really bad thing with the stock ones but how will that be with these projector lenses? I may let some of you see how you guys like em before i even consider purchasing them.

You can always check the seal or reseal them yourself if that becomes an issue

Sweet, Im also going to be doing some shopping on here because they have great stuff for our cars except body kits. Body kits for our cars are still ugly.

At least one guy over at CGP already ordered a set. He said they want $41 for shipping. I'm sure almost everyone is chomping at the bit to see a review and some pics of light output. I for one am really happy these are in the $300 range, they're still a bit pricey, but definitely within reach. Especially for single piece headlights. I hate the two part ones we've been stuck with.

yeah i'm also iffy on the projectors. I just don't like the amber part like Ordonez. but some knock offs may get rid of them. Can you remove the lens without breaking it? Cause if you can I will and then remove that amber piece and then reseal them. Then i'll have an excuse to get hid's

I put them at 185* for about 8-10 minutes. Then pull the lense off with a flat head screw driver

hmm, seems a little scary to put 300 projectors in the oven lol. is it hard to do and hard to reseal them? maybe ill see if I can pick up some cheap headlights from a yard around here and test it out. id hate to spend 300 on lights just to put them in the oven and ruin them.

the bulbs will be 9006 L 9005 H... the assembly comes with the bulbs already, and all you will have to do is plug and play, you could do HIDs but they might have problems with melting the housing bcuz the bulb is too close, just wait and dont buy them off of andysautosport... they werent supposed to put them out yet and if you buy them off of clubgp you get a discount anyway

It's because he didn't bake it right and busted it all to pieces. I also forget about my project I never finished: http://www.mkiii.org/l67/headq.jpg

HID's don't give off more heat, its a misconception. so they wouldn't melt anything. if anything, stock bulbs would have a higher chance of melting the housing than HIDs

no but they are closer to the projector because the bulb is longer... therefore that can melt the housing... Correct me if i'm wrong bcuz im just assuming right now but higher wattage = higher heat, HIDs have a higher wattage so they are hotter than stock bulbs

maybe im wrong but alot of ppl have the (right from the ZZP website) "misconception that the higher the K (Kelvin temperature) the brighter it gets, but infact, it is the opposite. The K rating is inversely proportional to the light output, therefore the lower the K the brighter the light output." now from my knowledge, you can use kelvin's to measure temp. 0 Kelvins is -273 degrees Celsius. 1K = 1* Celsius. so lower kelvins = lower temp. also taken from ZZP. "Drawing 35 watts, it runs cooler than typical hallogens and will not melt your housings." I believe the typical halogens are 55 watts. so it is actually using less watts and lower temps but giving off a brighter whiter light.

Kelvin is a measure of color temp, I don't think it has anything to do with the actual bulb temperature. Anyway, the brightest HID is around 3500k, or whatever is listed as bright white. The more blue you throw in, the worse the light output. But 5500k looks wonderful from an aesthetic point of view.

well even still, it only uses 35 watts and the typical halogens are 55. so that makes them run cooler.

So, we have one headlight bulb, why is there two circles in the housing?

Because you use two headlight bulbs with a projector. I assume they rigged it so you can use a separate high beam bulb if you feel like modifying your harness for it. Sounds good to me, even if the price is steep.

So therefore, you can't really put in your bulbs and call it a day. You have to rewire to use this housing or what?

You could just leave it unused... It's there if you want to use it. Besides, you'd have to do something to utilize the angel eyes anyway.

I would have waited if I was you. A guy from Spyder Auto, the company making the lights, has been posting on CGP saying that they will get first dibs and an even better price than what you just paid.

Just off the phone...the lights ARE NOT available until mid-march as per earlier postings. Andys has been accepting orders, but failed to advise me that they do not have the product. I cancelled my order until the lights are available. Seems like the sales staff were unaware....

When the guy from Spyder rephrased his original statment on clubgp he made a point to say that the current price on AAS is not correct, and that when they do come on the market we'll be able to group buy cheaper than Andy's will have them. To me it sounded like it could be cheaper or more expensive than they are now. He never said Andy's price would be lower than it is now, for all we know, it might be higher like the original $500 estimate and we'll get something like $450. It was impossible to say for sure from what he wrote.
