My son sold his 98GT and picked up a 97GTP. both cars were around 100k miles. the 98 had stock struts/springs and had a nice soft feel. the GTP has KYB struts but I am not sure about the springs. the ride height seems normal but the ride is crap. very stiff. he does have firestone Z rated stock size tires but I don't think that would affect the ride. He would prefer a softer ride. whats the bad news? OEM style struts? how do you figure out what springs you have?

KYB replacments do offer a little stiffer ride than normal, a lot more stiffer ride than worn out OEM struts.
It is highly possible the car might have a set of aftermarket springs.
Got any pics of the car? Does the new car seem to sit just a tad bit lower that the old one?
