My alternator just started buzzing really loudly the past couple of days, to a point where I can hear it from in the car with music on. I'm assuming it's on the way out (along with the other half of the things on this car) so where should I be looking for a new one?
AutoZone has the new Duralast one's for a decent price and a good warranty or should I just go with an AC Delco remanufactured one? I'll post up a video tomorrow of the noise just to be sure that it is the alternator dying.

No I'm 100% sure it's the alternator, I can pretty much put my ear right up to it and have screaming in my ear.

Tomorrow morning I'll make a vid and put it up and see what you guys think of it. I think I'm also gonna try and switch my alternator with another GP guy that lives by me to make sure it's the alternator. Any suggestions on where to get the new one? Parts store? Online?

This Ebay store carries a new high output alternator: DB Electrical Just another option to consider.

Thanks BlackArrow, but the last thing I need right now is another option.
Right now I'm leaning towards a remanufactured AC Delco one from Rock Auto. I don't know much about the Duralast ones from AutoZone so I'm staying away from them. I'm going to do them ZZP volt booster and alternator rewire while I'm in there so I think that will be enough instead of the high output one unless there's some advantages to a high output alternator that I don't know about.
Any input would be great I'm not that knowledgeable about alternators.

ACDelco might be expensive, but they LAST.
I cannot say the same for duralast.

Alright guys I got a pretty big update for you. Now that I'm off of school I've had time to look into this noise further.
Took the belt off and spun the pulleys by themselves, alternator is squeaking and the tensioner pulley is very rough when I spin it but not making any noise. I'm gonna replace the tensioner pulley but I'm not really sure what's going on with the alternator.
With the belt and coolant tank out of the way I got a better look at the engine and noticed my water pump gasket is leaking so that also needs to be replaced. Also, my power steering pump is covered in gunk so I'm thinking that's leaking as well but I have not been able to locate a gasket set for it.
One other thing, I have noticed a large puddle of what I believe to be coolant in a plastic shield of some sort under the engine. I don't really know how else to describe it so hopefully someone has an idea what I'm talking about. Any ideas on where this coolant could be leaking from? The water pump leak is on top of the pump and it's only a little bit.
Any help or insight that you guys can provide would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
