What are you looking to get out of the car?

for a GTP, you definitely need to get rid of the U-bend. A u-bend delete or DP will give you definite results. If you do this go with turbo mufflers or a resonator with chambered mufflers. You need some baffling or the drone will drive you insane.

Exhaust is always subjective. What one likes, another will hate, that is why there are 100s of different setups, and everyone likes theirs the best. 80% of us hate the drone and rasp our cars give with straight exhaust. What your car sounds like inside is drastically different than what it sounds like behind.

Just a question in relation to the topic ..

On a cold start, the idle sound out of the exhaust is beast .. i absolutely love listening to it for a minute or two, i'm silly like that lol.

Is there a way, whether it be deleting the u-bend, or going as far as a whole new exhaust system, to achieve this sound?

Thanks !

Nope.

Performance wise while ugly it maybe the stock Cat-back (including resonator) isn't all that bad. Only time you need to change out the catback is if your looking for every 1/100th you can get. The Ubend forward is where all the gains are at. As for sound that's quite subject to each individual. Tbat's been through five or six different set ups. The best I've heard are cars with radical cams and serious work.
