Ideally we would all flush our trannies regularly, then we wouldn't have to worry about this problem. But when we (or previous owners) let it go, the chances of flushes becoming a problem are increased. Tranny experts agree with whoever above said "the damage is already done" - by flushing you're just potentially speeding up its death.

I agree with that a yearly flush from new would probably help with the longevity,I've had the GTO since 5000miles and I'll try to flush say every 15000 miles .Chico(pops)

^even every 40,000 would be fine. but people seem to neglect it until its too late.

the only way the actual fluid will ruin your trans, is if you use the wrong fluid.

a trans cooler , and maintenance is the best way to get longevity.

every once in a while you read about some clown who has like 250,000 on stock trans, never flushed it, etc. but that is a lucky person, not a normal result,..... lol
