You'll see a difference, especially if your cat is near clogged.

I drive secondary roads almost all the time, speed mostly from 45 to 55 and have to slow down for towns along the way, get consistent 28 to 29 mpg in my 02 GT. I think the lower gearing helps in my case because the transmission stays in 4th gear and the TC stays locked up when I'm going up a hill, and there are lots of those in Maine.

I recently experienced the plugged cat syndrome and 20gtp02 is 100% right about noticing a difference...it was 5 mpg for me

With the GTP it would be tough to get very good mileage, but if you're willing to drive more like granny and less like racer X a stock GT will get very good mpg. I just had transmission rebuilt and now get 23 mpg in mixed commute w/ AC on about 1/2 time. In all highway trip this weekend cruising 70 - 75 mph I got 26+ mpg - one tank was 27.5 mpg.

> 30 mpg with a GP - that must be a hybrid or you've modded your engine to include cylinder deactivation smile

Nope.

With the cruise set at 67 I can get 34mpg out of my GTP. Only mods are an open cone intake and ZZP PCM.
