Well I never thought I could do it but with some mods and a good tune it has been. I beat a GTP, yea guys my GT beat a GTP w/ a gutted air box. I was dirveing last night and I pull up too the light and some POS pulls up next to me in a Silver GTP and startes revin his engine. I look at him and laugh b/c him and I both know that I can't beat him but I truned around and so not to be the baby out of this I do the same. He exchanges a few words sayin "You know I have a Supercharger right?" I was like yea now shit, but I don't need one" The lighted turned green and we both guned it. it was newly paved roads so neither of us spun it was a perfect jump. I look over ans see this kid smiling so I put the rest of it to the floor and my car it seconded gear and see yea I was out. There was a nohter light down the road that I beat him too I beat him but about half car. We stoped ont he side of the raod after and exchanged a few more words, him telling me he was giveing all it had and I still beat him. he had a guted air box in the car with a k&n cone filter on it. So after that I went to a abondoned air strip near my house and got out my freiends practice tree that does 1/4 mile times and I pulled off a 14.9 with the intake temp being 70* and when I racied the kid I had a intake temp of 40*.(as soon as next season starts again I'm going to go to the track and get some real times) So after finally gettin done and comin home before I went to sleep I wanted to let you guys know. Happy Holidays guys and girls be safe.

I was going to say something sarcastic like it must be those lund stick on scoops you have but I'll show some mercy, put it this way a stock GTP runs 14.8-15.1 1/4 mile times so a modded GT should have the upper edge with a little better gearing and a higher stall speed but with a few mods on the GTP he'll smoke you ,to keep a head of the game you will need a cam and FI either a blower turbo or nitrous it's a never ending cycle usually ending in new transmission, good luck at the track I would be interested to see how acurate your friends toy is.Chico.

Actually, it's only slightly more weight. You might gain two doors, but your front doors are smaller. You also loose the huge sheet metal piece just forward of the rear tires.

A minivan beat a GTP? Please tell me the GTP had a plugged fuel filter, clogged cat, or a squirrel caught in the belt drive... Now I have this mental image of a minivan with 1/4 mile ETs displayed on the windshield...

(12.95s) http://www.turbominivan.com/videos/ps_milan.mpg http://www.turbominivan.com/videos/russbird.mpg http://www.turbominivan.com/ In racing, the driver is a BIG factor. Also note the most Windstars had 200 hp engines in them. Sure weight is a factor too (4,000 lbs vs. our 3,500 lbs). However, just because you car is more powerful doesn't mean an automatic win. Cars can't race by themselves.

A GTP with some serious KR or fuel issues? Possible.
