i heard that u need to disconnect the negative battery terminal before you install one.. is that true? and for how long once its done before you fire it up..?

it was in my discution, remove it for half hour, just learnt that tonight aswell, lol, good to know eh? its funny it never said to do that when you received the intake, anyways hope i helped

ive just learnt from 20gtp02 that you do this for the pcm to reset, i dident know that either, i instaled my speedbuild fenderwell intake 2 weeks ago, i hope i didnt hurt anything by not doing that, tomorrow morning first thing im doing it

It will reset the PCM, and when you run the car again, the PCM will "re-learn" that engine is getting more air, and will adjust timing accordingly, thereby increasing HP. If you dont do it, you will see no difference in performance.

damn i have a cai for almost a month and i dont think i have unplugged the battery... so ur thinking i should do it sometime tommrow?
is it only the neg or the pos too?

I think its more of a matter of the fuel trims resetting and your fueling being a little more responsive.

I would've gone with the secret weapon Type R intake... or maybe the tornado intake insert, I got one and the ol butt dyno says "oh yeah!"

I noticed when I didn't do it, I was driving a lawn mower around, no pick up, way loss of power, and a loud unwanting noise. If you disconnec the positive you will have some issues I believe. NEGATIVE terminal for 30 mins, over night will be cool too, just remember before you go out you have to hook it back up.
