Hi Guys,

I have a 2000 GTP. Does anyone know how to adjust the emergency brake?
confused
Mine no longer holds and when I asked the dlr how much to do it the last time I was in for service they told me about $80!! mad

I dont have a helms FSM yet, (havent been able to make myself pay the $100+ yet) and the local shops and library never have anything for a 2000 Grand prix. Is it posted somewhere or has anyone written it up?

Thanks
Jeff

FYI: The E-brake on the Grand Prix is designed only to prevent the car from going forward. If the e-brake is on and you hit the gas a little in reverse, the car will move.
There should be an adjusting nut somewhere under the car. Maybe someone else knows for sure.

If you send me an email, i can then reply with information from GMs service page. I am at work and I do not have the link or the password here.

You should be able to take the rotor off and adjust like a traditional drum brake(starwheel).
