RT is twice the cost of ZZPs.

This is not true. It is going to be my life goal to expel this myth. Do NOT use a 2.5" DP for any application (GT or GTP) stock or modded.

who cares, get a zzp DP and youre good to go [/b]
Have you ever used an RT? Don't say "who cares" if you don't know if it is better or worse, since you have no experience with it.

That being said, there are all sorts of DP options out there. I had an old Jimmy-C downpipe (anyone know if he still makes them?), and then had a local member make one for me. ZZP seems to have pretty decent ones for the price, I know that Hogan Performance makes one, Wbodystore has one too. There are tons of options.

ZZP does offer lots of options and while the 304 stainless is great for longevity it does increase the cost. The Magnaflow down pipe is bolt in replacement at a good price and give the same benefits of hi-flow cat and u-bend delete.

I'm with Zerg on the cat issue. Even if your state doesnt have inspection laws the lack of a cat is federal offense so why risk it? Hi-flow cats will deliver all the sound and power you can dish out.
I'm also thinking you want to keep a downpipe with flex section. The rocking movement of your FWD engine almost demands it, without flex section I would think you would eventually get cracks or gasket leaks.

The Magnaflow 23405 canbe found online in several places for about $185 while ZZ'z base price is $89 by the time you add a cat and bolt on options is about the same price.

hmmm, id keep looking on the Club GP ones until you find one with the flex if youre worried about it, or just get headers and screw it.

yes just get a high flow cat like everyone is telling u and if you got a good shop near buy you could just buy the cat and they could weld everything and remove the ubend but i still say the easiest way is a zzp 3" DP

Pretty much, but you can just have a shop weld your stock cat on there.

JimmyC D/P's were the best, but unfortunately I do not believe he makes them anymore. He was shipped out to the UE sand box at one time and no longer had the time to put into building them.
I know he is no longer in the GP community. He sold his GP a long time ago and shortly after that his wife sold hers too.
He was an awesome vendor. I drove down to San Antonio when I bought mine and he welded it in for free when I bought it. I tried to pay him $40 for his work, but he gave me back $20 and told me to use it for gas to get back to Austin.
I've had my JimmyC D/P for quite some time and have had zero issues with it.

Gutted = no internals. If someone looked under your car to see if you have a cat, they would see one.

Back in the 80's a popular thing to do was to shove a broom stick in the cat to get all that crap out, then once the cat was "empty", simply reinstall.

Well I got the downpipe on, I got the catted zzp bolt up.. While doing that they noticed a hole in resinator so got that fixed too. 102.00 dollars for the resinator and install of both. Not bad at all. My car had some sound prior to all this but now its SILENT and I don't like that. LOL. I want a little sound deep tho not raspy. I heard magnaflow 225 or 250 is a good one if I don't want it over the top... is that true? Thanks

Should of just kept the Res. out if you wanted a bit of sound.

The DP wont make it much louded unless you have no cat. but you have the HF cat.
