Do you feel better laying a vinyl on a surface or sanding/painting and clear coating a surface?

Thanks.

i used 2000 grit WETsand paper.

1st step:
Wetsand with a bucket of water and the sandpaper until the surface is hazy and the water is a little milky on the tails.

2nd step:
Clean the surface with rubbing alcohol and let dry.

3rd step:
Apply first coat of tint lightly, wait a few minutes and repeat step.

4th step:
Let the tint dry, prefurably 30 minutes, then use 2 coats of clear coat after that and you should be good to go.

5th step:
Let dry for atleast an hour before touching and putting back on the car.

I have THREE coats of tint on mine, and they are DARK, i used brighter bulbs so they look stock at night.

It's pretty a much a must you will have to get it online, and its about 6-7 bucks a can for clear coat and sandpaper.

Good choice on going with vinyl first. It shouldnt be to hard to lay it on there and position it right as long as you use water in between it because then if you mess up you can relay it without losing stickyness or tearing the vinyl.

if you want them nice, smooth, and shiny, wetsand at the end and polish, just make sure you lay enough clear so you dont burn through it.

Use water? Wouldn't that get rid of the stickiness?

Just install it with water so that it can move a bit before it is stuck. If you just put it on dry it has to be absolutely perfect.

Put it on while wet, so you can move them into perfect position, then blow dry the water and heat it when you have it in the exact position where it wont move.
