okay so i have a little extra time on my hands now and i want to finally build an intake for my grand prix... now ive been looking at a couple different ways to build one, including Hercman's site, and a few others, like this one...
http://www.clubgp.com/newforum/tm.asp?m=2393530&p=1&tmode=1&smode=1

i probably wouldnt do the intercooled thing, but i like the looks of this one...
now i live in michigan where it rains and snows, so my question is, wouldn't the intake get wet when it rains and suck up water??? due to michigans climate, would i be better off keeping the filter in the engine bay and just doing a CAI?? any help would be appreciated... also if you guys have any pointers on installing these things, thatd be a great help too... thanks alot in advance...

that intercooled one looks awesome. I live in MI too. I have a CAI but I've been thinking about building a FWI.

the only time you need to worry about water is if you plan on driving through any deep (I mean deep) puddles.

with the holes on the bottom of the tube wouldnt heat get trapped inside? i would think you would want holes on the top to extract heat.

I think the one on Herc's site is better. I doubt that single tube from CGP does anything at all, including keeping heat in or out. It's a cool concept, but it really doesn't make sense.

well i really dont care about the intercooled thing at all, but i was just thinkin the one behind the headlight would get more air to it, and it has less bends... but then again im not that smart about cars either
