I was vaccuming out my car, and I slid my drivers seat all the way back. Well now it won't go forward, or back. It will however go up and down, and the lumbar support still works. Is there anything any of you guys knows about this? I really can't drive my car right now, I'm not a 7 foot tall monster, and this just kind of ruined my day off. Please help if you guys know how.

the motor for the forward/reverse motion does not seem to be making any noise.
Also I read the thread that you mention UMfan and no cables seem to be loose.
And Jose, I'm like 5"10. Can anybody else that height drive comfortably with our seats 100% back?
Regardless, this kind of sucks.
Aye yai yai.
Well its drivable I just discovered. I may have overexaggerated its depth. But definately can't have a passenger behind me.
I see 3 motors. Do they all work together, or are certain ones for certain functions?

I'm 5'9 and drive with the seat back over 3/4 but not all the way. It is definately uncomfortable to drive with the seat all the way back. As for the back seats on our cars... they have almost no leg room. I feel sorry for the person who has to sit back there. A Taurus rear seat feels like sitting in the front seat and not a coffin.
Bryan, if you have an electrical adjusted seat, I'd check all the wiring. It might have grounded out or a plug might have gotten hung while it was moving back (or even cut). Anyone know what, if any fuses control the power seats?

i'm 6'8", so i have to always drive with the seat back unless i'm nice and move it forward a little bit for somebody riding in the back!
right when we got our gp, i moved the seat back and it quit working, let it sit and it started working again and has never stopped since. i thought maybe for some reason it just got hot or something.
have you tried checking your fuses, maybe it blew one. don't know though.

Speaking of Herc helping me with that, I'm having the same problem again, except slightly different. Now the auto slide doesn't work, and the cable is in place where it is supposed to be. I tried taking the cable out and replacing it, but it still doesn't work. Does anyone know what could be the problem there?? I thought about ripping the whole seat out one day and taking it all apart to see what is wrong, but I'm afraid I'll screw something up.

I had to remove everything all together to install nifty new seat warmers, really fake leather, and run some cables to my now expired 5" cheepo monitors. It was fairly simple and i dont think you should have any problem at all with it if your a little mech. inclined.
