Hello,
Sometimes when I'm driving, the RPMs on my car will suddenly drop down to 0 and just stay there until I restart it. It is usually accompanied by a growling sound and a small shudder or vibration. Driveability isn't affected, (although the car does sometimes die out of nowhere and ocassionally has trouble restarting, I'm still trying to figure this one out). The car is a 97 grand prix gtp coupe. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

What is an SES code?

SES code is Service Engine Soon light. The code is stored in the PCM Autozone can get you the code for free.

My money's on the Crankshaft Position Sensor.
