Hello All,
I just replaced belt tensioner on supercharger, it seem 40% better, (maybe in my head), but when car is idling it has like a popcorn popping sound. I did the listen to screw driver bit, on supchrgr, belt tensioner, even the other belt tensioner , but its just hard to distinguish. I have read it probably the two little sprockets you buy from zz performance, but first I think i need to change up other belt tensioner first?
Any help would be appreciated.....
Yes I put a new belt on superchrger, and other belt 1 year ago, but still had problem.
Thanks

A worn coupler will make a rattle type sound at idle and smooth out under higher revs. If you have more then 50k on the car chances are you'll need a new coupler.

The worn coupler that is the plastic sprocket type that you buy from zz performance.....
Ive got great step by step instructions w/ pics from this site.
If I dont change it, (ive had it for about 20k miles), whats the worse that can happen, and what are the chances.
Thanks

Worst case scenario is you tear through the coupler. No worries for the rest of the S/C. What are the chances of that pretty slim. I'm at 72k and still have the original coupler. Yes you can run your car with out the S/C belt for long periods of time with no worries.
