It's probably not a big deal to most :p , but I've noticed from pictures posted on other forums by early purchasers of WS6's that they don't have the GTP Competition Group badge on the left side of the trunk. They just have the Grand Prix on the left and the GTP on the right. What do yours have, Lorenzo, Fluid, R., davemac, jtemail, or anyone else with an 04 WS6 in the driveway?

Fortunately, I DO have that emblem on my car... GTP with Competition Group right underneath it.

BTW - Sorry about the botched up image job... I'm a little rusty... frown

Looks fine to me - that's still different than in the brochure - it's a larger Competition Group badge on the left side.

Like I said, it's not that big a deal, but I'm kinda fussy about the appearance details.

(Fussy about appearance - from the one who's getting an orange car!!!)

I don't think I've seen that image before of the larger comp g badge.... I'll look some more, but I have only seen what my car has, even in the brochures

I think this is what you are talking about... if you saw the real picture... in the book (better than the scan shows, it also has side badges on the car (which the cars do not have). I believe this is a picture of a possible prototype.

It took a good bit of searching, but I finally found a picture of the larger badge on the net.

Go to the Grand Prix section of pontiac.com, pull down About Grand Prix and select Photo Gallery, click to enter the Exclusive - Winner's Report, then See It Now on the right hand side by A Winner Hits The Street, after it loads click on Photo Gallery, after it loads click Rear View - and THERE is the larger Comp G badge on the left side!! :p

I notice that even the main page of the Grand Prix website has a picture of right side and the back, exactly like the one in the brochure I have (picked up late February) EXCEPT it now has the smaller Comp G badge on the right side of the trunk. Maybe the larger badge (which I think is way cooler) was eliminated in final production tweaks. frown

Nevermind - you beat me by five minutes while i was typing the last post!

That is the badge in question - which I still think is way cooler than the real one!

Yeah, you're right, it is cooler, but I like having no badges on the sides of the car.... I'm glad they did away with that!

That's true - it is much cleaner without the side badges. One thing I liked about the prototype badge is that it easily distinguished the Comp G from the GTP. The real badge looks pretty much like the regular GTP unless you look close.

Of course, it's all the more surprising when you pull away from your competition when they don't expect what you've got underneath laugh

On a related subject, I'll probably have a few simple mods done this time around; nothing too crazy.

heh, yeah, nothing too crazy, wouldn't want to void the warranty and find that a problem that was there before you modded the car needs fixed, then get blamed for something you didn't do...

mad

I've had my Polo Green "Comp G" just over five weeks. The badge is on the right side of the trunk. I like the lack of badges on the sides of the car because it's not obvious what we've got and thus the car is kind of a "sleeper".

I didn't even know about that badge from the prototype. I like it. It's too bad I don't have it. Like everyone else who spoke before me, I simply have the badge on the right side of the trunk which is quite subdued and mild compared to that other one.

It seems to me that if you have a GTP/WS6 with the optional chrome five-spoke wheels, the only thing that differentiates you from a "standard" GTP is that little 3-inch long badge on the back. Bummer. The average non-GP owner won't know the difference even with the 10-spoke wheels. eek wink

I'm going to put a set of 2003 GTP side badges on my 2004. I know it changes things, but I did the same thing on my 1994 GTP. I put the side badges from the 1993 GTP on it and it looked great. I know its the wrong font/logo, but it still looks slick. I bought a set off Ebay yesterday for $40.
