what is the normal running Transmisson temp on a 2006 Grand Prix(not a GT or GT2)? i took my moms out tonight and i believe it was running a little hot 201 degrees is this normal or high?

Damn 201 degrees I would not drive any more until it has been checked out.Doesn´t matter 2004,05 or 06 model 201 degrees is not normal.I haven´t seen mine go higher then 105 degrees.

Never seen it go higher than 105? That seems really low.

201...that does seem high...I'm thinking something in the 160-180 range is normal, depending on weather.

i have been watching it the past couple of days and it seems to have settled down at around the 160-180 range i guess it was just a fluke moment i was running through all of the displays when that caught my eye.

From what I've seen, my GXP runs @ about 200 deg. so far. Then again it only has about 350 miles on the car, so I may not have looked @ it enought to tell.

i checked my manual for a 2004 gtp and it says normal operating temp is btwn 170-205 degrees. i even called the dealer and they said the same. if anything u can always get an after market trans cooler.
