hey - has anyone had the problem where the sunroof doesn't auto open, then won't close.

I have to keep rocking the switch, and then the window will only move a little bit then stop.

This is an intermittent problem so the mechanics haven't been able to recreate it and won't do anything for it.

I'm wondering if anyone else out there has had this problem and how they got it fixed.

GM cars are notorious for electrical problems. I just traded in a 2001 Monte Carlo for a 2005 GTP. The Monte had all kinds of electrical problems. I found water, salt etc to be a culprit.

i have a 04 gtp...my sunroof would work intermittently. the dealer said that they had to replace the motor and tracks... but a month later the same thing happened. i dont know what the hell the deal is. on one occasion i had to help guide the roof closed with my hand, while using the switch. take it into the dealer and have them check it.

I noticed about a little while back, the sunroof won't open automatically sometimes. I tap the switch, it moves an 1/4 inch, after a few more times then slides open by itself.

thats like the windows auto down stop working... when that happens, its one of two things, either a dead switch, or relay... sounds more like a relay in your case tho
