my car has 104,000 miles and has been making some weird noises when I accelerate and some not like, but like grinding noise when making turns. any ideas what it can be. I don't want to take it to a shop and be totally clueless.oh it also doesn't like to start on the 1st time. this happens about 50% of the time. any help I would appreciate. thank you in advance.

The grinding noise is probably be a hub going out, they normally make more noise in turns. If it's louder turning right, then your left hub is going out, if it's louder turning left, then your right hub is going out. Actually, the bearing in the hub is going out, just there's no way to replace just the bearings, so you have to replace the entire thing.

As for not starting the first time, if you haven't, you probably need a tune up. Plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter.
