I just bought a 2007 GXP 2 weeks ago after trading in my 2004 GTO. I love this car so far. I have a question though. Ever since the first day I've had this car, everytime I go over a speed bump or turn into a tilted drive way, the rear shocks or something is making a noise, like a banging noise. Is this just due to the Bilstein shocks? Does anyone else have this issue?

I don't have any suspension noise or issue on mine... I would have the dealer check it if not the amp like SHARKO said.

Well I didn't do anything to it, but a couple days ago the noise stopped and hasn't come back?? So I guess I'm good.

Just curious.

Why did you trade in the GTO for the GXP? Was it because of looks? Wanted something new? Did you have issues with the GTO? How was it.

Again, just curious.

It was coming off lease, I was ready to get out of it anyway to tell you the truth. I live in Ohio and the car was useless in the snow. The trunk is useless because the gas tank is behind the seat and leaves you no room. If all you care about is going fast then its a great car. I got a Beltronics Accelerometer (sp?) when I bought it and after literally hundreds of practice runs I was doing the 1/4 in under 13 seconds, no mods just a K&N filter. Best time was 12.85 @ 109.7. But if you look and both cars (GTO, GXP) you get so much more with the GXP for less money. GTO still has ugly 17" rims, no cross drilled rotors (to my knowledge), not even close to the amount of toys inside (no sunrood even available. GXP is so much more practical (4 doors, front wheel drive for winter, a WAY better radio believe it or not, and I think it looks ALOT better than the GTO)> The suspension, wheels, tires and brakes alone do that.

Oh, by the way. I've done a couple of 0-60 runs in the GXP and it is quicker than the factor says. I haven't even put a K&N in it yet (which I always do with my cars) and I ran a 5.4. I think I can even do better than that once I figure out the perfect launch since it basically wants to sit still and smoke the tires off the rims. I haven't ran the full 1/4 yet but I will do some runs soon. I live out in the country with a bunch of straight roads that barely anyone is ever on so its not a big deal.
