My car has 3100 miles and is in mint condition. With my options Kelly Blue Books says it is worth $17500.

Now considering the sticker says +/- $33000 that just costed me $5 a mile to drive it!

SHEESH! I am EXTREMELY UPSET BY THIS banghead

I went to KBB and input the known info on your car, zip code 78727 it has a private party value $20,300.00, trade in $16,825.00.

Yeah...that sucks.

That sucks guys. I bought my 97 GTP for $10,000 and it dropped to $6000 in two years. I know it's not as much as you guys are talking about, but when it's that low, it makes a bigger difference. I totalled the damn thing and got a check for $6,200. So much for the $5,000 I put into it....

HAHA! It's funny that you compared it to $5 a mile. I know a car for sale that is only 1 dollar a mile for the first 40,000 miles. Its a Porshe and thats straight from Car and Driver Magazine!!

I meant it in the sense that if you lose $4k on a $20k car, it's one thing. But if you lose $4k on a $10k car, it's more of a hit. Think of it in percentages....

I guess I am used to trucks now.... they seem to hold pretty good Resale Value....My Avalanche had a great resale value.

Yeah trucks do hold. My cousin bought a 02 2500HD all opts with 50 thousand miles and paid 23 for it new was like 36000 i think but if you had a 02 car with 50000 miles on it that cost that much it wouldnt be worth a dog turd by now.

I agree, trucks are the exception, especially if it's 4WD. GM's seem to be the best for holding their value.
