I recently removed my front passanger seat to install wiring for my XM radio. After replacing the seat now my airbag light is on and I can't pass a state safety inspection with this condition. Is there a way to reset this light without shelling out big $$$'s to the dealer with a code reader/reset device? Please help.

Try undoing the batt wires ( both) for about 15 min it should go out. If not you will need a scanner to turn it off

yep just get a scanner and turn it off, thats what I did in my mom taurus, I live in northern va as well and they are very strict about emission and safety inspection.

What type of scanner shall I look for? I read that the standard OBD-II won't reset airbag codes?
