I feel it is time for me to move on... I will no longer be a part of GP.net

I will take my lousy GP and be ashamed to be next to a BMW, Nissan, or Toyota at a red-light and just cry because how I am so screwed by the U.S.A. car makers, who try to give me a decent car at a fair price and try to make a buck or 2 in the process.

Down with the USA car makers.

I'm not understanding this, either. Don't give up on the domestics just yet. You bought a first year production car, which is always risky, with any make.

Just got done working on a 2001 V6 Passat, 34k on it. Both horns have been replaced so far, the rear brakes are near grinding, and it has an eternal problem with some dashboard noises. That, and you can't even imagine what it's like servicing under the hood.

Freind's father's 03 Honda Pilot went in last week again for a pulley and belt "unattatching" itself. This was after a CAMSHAFT problem last year right after he picked it up. Inproper torqueing at the factory, which resulted in cam timing thrown way off.

There's more I'm sure if I think hard enough, but my point is that when you see the whole market, foreign and domestic, you see that there's not a huge gap between domestic and foreign quality anymore. But, it is unfortunate about whatever problems you've been having with your car. It's frustrating, especially when you've gotta make that big payment every month...

thats part of the point I was trying to make in the other forum. The gap is closing, domestics are as good as the imports and imports have more problems than ever before, but Peoples PERCEPTION IS stuck in the late 80s when GM made junk and the imports were winning people over with really good cars.

Why2kmax put it perfectly. And yes, there were some good cars in the 80's, just give me a day or two to think of one...

Once again, why2kmax and I are thinking in sync again....as usual!

I'll never buy a foreign car. Fuck that.

Unless the nameplate says Ferrari or Lamborghini.

Don't go Jizz, at least not without a reason.

And when I pull up next to a BMW, NIssan, or Toyota at a stoplight, I always feel bad for them.

My father bought a CVCC Honda Civic hatchback when I was little, I believe it was a 1977 model. It rusted like mad, and I guess went through numerous cylinder head gaskets even by the time it reached only 90k.

Thank god for those cast iron GM engines!...

Hondas really really sucked until 1984. That was a turning point for them when they started to build a decent car. I had an 85 CRX that I beat the living shit out of. It took me through 4 years of college and then some. It had over 200k on it when I traded it. Nothing ever broke inside or out. All I ever did was change the oil and put brakes and shocks on it. I saw it again over 5 years later with over 300k on the odometer. Some kid was using it as a pizza delivery car. Same deal with my friends 85 Accord hatchback. In some ways I think those were better built cars than the civics today. Back then they had to try hard to catch the big 3. Now, not so much. Success sometimes ruins a product.

I am not going anywhere in the literal sense. I am working on my back room and will not have much time (at least as much as I have had). I also go back to school next month (Software Engineer) and Start a new job Monday -- WHEW!

I WILL NOT EVER BUY A FOREIGN CAR!! I AM A GM MAN ALL THE WAY!!!!

I was being a goof because of the posts I have been reading about how great all these foreign cars are... I have to say My Comp G is a wonderful car...it has a few "cosmetic" problems but at least the mechanical aspects are solid!

And yes the PCM is GREAT!

and no you cannot have my Intercepor badge.. but I can tell you how to get one cheap.

I would just like to read more posts (on a GP/Pontiac/GM forum) about how everyone loves their GP and how great GM is doing these days.

Ok I am done smile
