For everybody who wants to get one of these good luck. Pontiac said they are only going to produce 18,000 of them in 2004.

I think the new GTO is a good replacement for the F-Body, better than the SSR Chevy was gonna replace the Camaro with. A 300-hp rear-drive Grand Prix is perfect, even if only 18,000 are made in '04.

This isn't the new GTO, but it is a wicked car none the less. It is a new coupe based on the basic monaro platform. It has two sets of twin pipes, two hood vents, a carbon fibre bonnet and a C5R, 7.0 litre, 427 cubic inch engine. It's the HRT 427 coupe.(HRT-Holden Racing Team)
Basically it's 100kg's (200+lbs) lighter than a standard Monaro but with a bigger engine. mad

Thats what they said at the start, as well as ONLY shipping to Michigan, Texas and California... thats all changed. Its now more than doubled to close to 38,000+ the first year *AND* they are shipping 500 to Canada. I know someone who's dad owns a GM dealership and they have one on order for his son.

But... and this is the REAL news... did you guys know that they are coming out with 2 engines on the GTO? A 360HP base model and the 415HP LS6 from the Z06!

Take that and smoke a few Cobras just for fun!

The SSR is a pickup truck and has nothing to do with a 2 door coupe type car. Thats what the GTO is for. And just for chuckles, there are a few SSR's driving around here in Texas already. I've seen at least 3 so far (3 different colours... black, silver, red).
