I need some info. The car's ac has been making this weird noise. Basically, whenever it was running every once in a while it would seize up. It also made this horrible noise. Today, she said that it just stopped altogether. I know I read on here somewhere about a part of it getting clogged and I was wondering if that could be the problem and how to get to that part. Thanks for your help in advance.

From what you describe it sounds like time for a new compressor to me.

yeah, bad clutch on compresor.. you are going to need to have a shop do it... once you change the compressor out the a/c line has to be vacumed and then refilled at the same time

If it was just the clutch, you could possibly buy that seperate from the compressor. Also, if the pulley is seizing, you had better buy a belt now. That way you can throw it on whenever your current one breaks or you get the problem fixed (no doubt the current one has taken some where and tear from it).

I was kind of wondering about the belt. I should probably wait until the compressor is fixed before i change the belt, huh? Oh, btw, i got in the car the other day and the ac actually works. she had it on the windshield setting and didn't realize it, but when I got in the car I turned it to the regular vent setting and it does work, it just seizes up every once in a while.
