2009 GPN Calendars

Everyone who submitted an entry, made it on a calendar!
There are 2 calendars, a standard size and an oversize. Herc and Palsut's pic sizes were not up to par to be on the oversize calendar so they gave up their spots on the oversized calendar so 2 pics that wouldn't have made the calendar could be on the oversize calendar.
Since Acefighter only rcv'd 1 vote, he gets the cover on both calendars.
Everyone made a calendar!

What does it matter, the cover faces the wall 12 months of the year.
Everyone who entered got a full page pic of their car.

And I think the real thanks goes to Herc and Palsut for giving up their spot on the oversized calendar. It's because of them everyone got on.

Thank you Palsut and Herc for giving up your spot.

well because you made a big deal about it being a "quality" calendar. Im sorry but thats the plainest looking calendar ive seen. Im not spending $15 on that.

Also the person that got the most votes should have been on the cover of the calendars....idk maybe its just because im a designer and I see potential in something and it could have been made much better, IMO. (im talking about everything in general.)

I never played it up to be anything more than what it is, a calendar made by Cafepress with the pics that were submitted.

Makes no difference to anyone if nobody buys one. They are being sold straight from the vendor and there is no profit being made by me.

Well i am just saying, you were saying "We need quality pictures, and they have to be PERFECT." You know Bobby, for the quality of this calendar, half the shots that people had(partial car or what not) would have made this calendar stand out more. They were very creative shots that showed the angles of the cars.

Thanks for the calendar, Nobody had to make this calendar.

considering no profits are being made I wouldn't complain too much.

Could it be nicer? sure, but then it can ALWAYS be nicer.

If you want a better calendar you can take pictures off the site that people posted up, and have your own calendar made up. And you can add whatever you please to the calendar.

no need to get upset about it.

I think it was a cool idea, but one of two things may come out of treating it this way. 1 they won't want to do a calendar next year ( most likely) or 2 they will put more effort into it, and then charge more money for it.

if anyone wants to use one of my pictures for their own calendar, feel free!

Your welcome. AustinGTP show my car on oversize calender. It was not very good picture. My camera use wide shot setting. Next year (if we will do that again), I will make sure the setting is standard for oversize image.

I'm sure 2 members are happy to see their car in who replace me and Hercman.

I will order that later.

No problem guys.

For those that are upset you can take all the pics you want of your ride and go to Cafepress and have a calender made of just your car.

When the rules were set we were hoping to have more then just the 15 who entered.

Herc, the only reason we are upset is because you guys hyped it up to be this topnotch calendar, and for $15 and $18 i would expect it to be alot more than what is given. I would have thought Bobby or you would have done some nice photoshop work(to give some creative design to the cover and the inside pages).

Whats not creative about a well done shot of a car? I personally put a lot of time into cleaning and searching for creative backdrops that fit the bill. Sure if it had the GPnet logo down in the corners or on the cover it might be a nice touch but adding something like that might have taken away from certain shots of cars. Crimpton's ride pops immediately to mind. That was a well framed shot that truly showcased his car...any kind of logo would have detracted from the shot in my opinion. Having a high quality image was a must for this project especially since they offered a large format. Many PSed images would look like junk when they are enlarged to that level.

I guess I'm a litte surprised that you are unhappy Tim since that shot of your ride with the sailboats in the background is a quality image of your car. Maybe I'm overhyped about this but I've never had my car in a show or won an award. This isnt exactly that kind of thing but I'm proud of that pic and that calendar page is gettin framed and going on my den wall.

Thanks to our mods for making this happen. thumbsup

^ Tbat, I am in the same boat as you, I never won an award for my cars or trophies, etc.

so to me it was a big deal to get on the calendar.

I am just happy the mods listened to me about putting my car on the October month laugh

I really liked the area where I took the picture of my 2nd white GT.

but I can't take the pictures there anymore, there is someone living in their car there, and has been since the beginning of summer.

Tbat im with you on the never been noticed in a show or award I took lots of time and searched for different places to shoot my car like this

I think if I would have moved the car to more of a front of the car facing shot it would have been a better pic, but every time i went back there, with the bumper cover to take the place of the license plate, there were always too many people around, There were only two other times i was complemented on my ride was my old 72 chev pu,that i restored and painted, first one was from a friend that while driving my tailgate stil looked wet from the paint, and from one older gentleman at the Montgomery wards store on university ave in St Paul,(where people still cruise ask me what color it was and who painted it...I said 1992 gm Bahama blue over white DP primer, and the clear tinted with frost blue pearl, ( looked purpleish) under the parking lot lights and I painted it, and with the performer cam, intake, and carb, it just lumped, thats the closest, ive been to having my ride in "lights" so this is a really cool deal, thanks to bobby and herc for doing this
