ATC? very cool. I'm a backshop AVIONICS Tech by trade. Love workin on birds. Your job: are you a fixed airfield ATC only, or capable of controlling traffic around moving parking lots as well?

A little adivce for ya: go to school as much as you can, take the Navy for all the TA you can get. Invest any and all deployment money you can. Keep EXCELLENT medical records. Dont be stupid. Keep your NCOs informed about EVERYTHING.

im going to Embry riddle avionics school fot ATC and some other random classes so i got that on lock.

i never get hurt so haha i guess i got that on lock too.


i monitor military traffic 350 NM surrounding the airfield excluding canada and the atlantic.
i control VFR tower traffic 10 nm surrounding the airfield and radar final approach called PAR (precision approach radar), ASR (Approach servalance radar) and arrival control.

i have my hands full and its stressful but i love it. im soon going over to the old afgan sandbox to play for 9 months. i dont know when they will tell me 5 days b4 i go but im proud to do it.

i have pics of the whole system. tower, par, asr and arrival positions if u want to see. there all declassified so you all dont have to worry haha

So where are you transfering after the base closes? I seen all the navy and marine planes will be out sometime in January and then the army bubba's will be gone a couple months after.

its not the facility its the equipment and its the same equipment as the FAA just upgraded haha
