why is it that Canada always seems to get models offered that we never see here? ...and then GM whines about cost cutting and such...check this out. http://www.gmcanada.com/english/vehicles/pontiac/pursuit/index.html why would Gm go to the expense of offering a Pontiac version of the Cobalt when they have the G6 coupe?...but we cant get a GP coupe here...if you want a 2dr, you gotta buy a bloody Monte or a GTO...that isnt choice, thats product control. I wonder what else Canada gets that we dont.

it also comes standard with a manual transmission. is't that one of the biggest complaints i have heard not having a manual transmisson for these cars? i heard it was because GM couldn't figure out how to make a decent manual transmission for FF setups but thats what this is.

GM hasn't found a better use for Canada than testing new cars to make sure they won't explode on Americans.
I'm going to go hide now.

I do'nt know why certain models are available in Canada and not in the US ,visa versa the 04 GTO was'nt available in Canada for some reason I suspect its just politics within GM .Chico.

Maybe they think that if they make the car look the same as everything else, with a different name, people will buy them.
That is GM reasoning for you.

Looks like a re-worked/re-badged G6.

Most US car makers have offered different models ans specific options on cars for other than the US market, ie Canada and Maxico for years. In the early to mid 90's Chrysler offered the Lebaron with a turbo option that wasn't available in the US. I believe it was called the Phantom. Way I understood it, the could sell them in Mexico because the fuel and safety requirements weren't as stringent. Two things the Grand Prix GTP needed were a good 5 speed manual and a convertible option. The slush box is ok, but the fun meter goes up when I can do my own shifting. I drove convertible Lebarons for years and really miss not being able to put the top down.

its not only GM politics but also U.S. politics lets face it the U.S. has become way to strict on a lot of things such as T.V. and video games as well as cars and guns.
