I think for all mine it was around 200 something, that price sounds good. You have to account our back window is rather big.

I wonder what the tint laws are in TX? I guess I could google it.

I'm glad you guys posted your prices. I would have imagined over the three hundred mark.

Depends if its a local guy or a shop, shops here charge 275 for all 5 windows

A local guy off of craigslist came and stripped 4 and put new 4 on for 100 and a windshield tint strip for 20 $

35% up front, 20% on the back doors, and the rear window can be as dark as you like it.

My windows cost me either $140 or $160, with a lifetime warranty.

Get online and see if you can find other people's reviews of the place you are going to have tint your car. That is the best advice I can give you. I rolled the dice, going with a small business that was only a few months old, and it paid off. Not everyone would get so lucky, though. Word of mouth is the best way to find out if some place is worth your money.

I paid $210 for 35% gray lumar with the highest UV and solar heat rejection percentages. That is on a 4dr with a 20% windshield piece. Lifetime guarantee. I have had 5 cars tinted there. My 93 had a window bubble in 2002 and they replaced it with no problems.

My wife's 2 dr Monte was $185 IIRC for the same.

I'm always afraid of it ending up with that nasty purple and hundres of bubbles look. Is that a poor DIY job I described or a crummy pro job? I see ton's of those running around here. Along with ton's of "tint" shops that just from the outward appearance turns me away.

I feel the same way Herc, that's why i've been pushin' it off so long. I want to find a decent place to get mine done.

more than likely those crummy bubbles and purple are DIY jobs. I do know that a crappy tint film will turn purple but if the tint shop is fairly reputable, it shouldnt be a problem. You could ask to see some of the shops work in order to ensure that you will get a quality job. And every tint shop I have heard of that was reputable offers a lifetime guarentee so look for that as well.

That being said, I dont have tint.....yet, but Ive been around plenty of people who have gotten it.

Also, dont let a "creepy" looking shop turn you away. Theres one here in Flint that is the crappiest dump but puts out awesome looking tint. Just do some research and you wont have to worry about it.

Lifetime warentee means nothing to me because of how much I move. I'd never be able to get a problem resolved.

thats why when you get the tint done you MAKE SURE that you get the COLOR GUARD warranty which is a lifetime warranty!

well, more than likely, if they come with the lifetime warranty you wont have an issue. its the places that DONT offer the warranty that you have to worry about.

^^ Thats what I was going for Tim. If they dont offer a warranty, more than likely they arent too worried about doing a good job since it wont be coming back for warranty work.

Karl, go to Boone IA and ask around for "The Tint Man" (forgot his name) and he works for llumar and will get you a real good deal, for all my windows (back 5% and up front 30%) it cost me 165 and he does a professional job no air bubbles and precision cuts.

I paid $225 for mine 2 years ago, from Solar Solutions in Mentor, OH. I hear that people drive here from different states to have them do it, so I figured why not.
35% all 5 windows.

That's why I had to get mine redone. But if you get it done at a good place, and don't treat it like crap, it'll last you until you sell your car, most likely.
