As stated on the title, she has an HID light out on her car but I told her its probably just the bulb but I was told by somebody that the whole light has to be replace when the HID light goes out on these cars. Is this true.

Would these be a oem replacement HID light, if not where do I go.(other than the dealership)lol

I don't see why the whole headlight would have to replaced because of a bulb, unless it is a contained unit, but that is not a very owner-friendly design.

Have you actually taken the headlight out to look?

You'd have to know the Kelvin of the bulb and what type it is. You may be able to just purchase any HID bulb, but you'd have to actually take out the headlight to look.

Post a pic if you have a chance of the back of the headlight.

stock hid bulbs do not vary in temp AFAIK, you just buy the correct bulb. There are two OEM standards, just need to find out which one she uses and buy the appropriate bulb.

Yea, I already found this website and I found the bulbs on ebay for 119, and its the original phillips D2R bulbs K4300 bulbs that came from the factory. The dealership wanted 300 dollars for just 1 bulb and I already look up instructions on how to install and its pretty simple like our bulbs but I can have the bulb out the box to long because so that it won't get contaminated with dust.

Dust shouldn't be a problem with the bulb, just don't touch it or the oils from your finger will diminish it's life.

I don't get something, what is the difference between 4300K hid and 6000k HID. I see the 6k has more blue tint but my sister 4300 stock hid lights had some blue tint to it as well.

The color. 4300k is white, it just looks blue because of the cutoff in the projectors. You can mod the projectors to get even more color out of them.

edit: here are my 4300k bulbs, non-oem obviously.

Okay, well I know she has reflectors instead of projectors, those came in the 2004 and up RX's.

Really? I didn't know there were any OEM vehicles with reflectors and HIDs. Does it at least have a cutoff?

Yea, it has a cutoff. The headlight unit itself has a mint green color to it on the HID versons, the non HID versions are just plain white.(I read up on this this whole thing)
