do this. have your parents put it in there name and list you as a driver. insurance in your name alone would be outrageous. seriously.

Call up your insurance provider, that is what they are there for, free of charge!

My dad always put my car insurance under his name until I reach 25 years old. He think it is stupid that I have to pay too much money than him. I know all young kids cause car accident so that's why insurance charge them too much. I only cause one accident in my rookie driving year. My fault. After that, I don't have any accident and have a good driving record so he believe me that I'm doing good job and deserve pay little money than what insurance charge under 25 years old.

lol very funny. I saved lot of money for accident free discount. I rather not pay lot of money if I speed or wreck myself or got into other car if I'm speeding like that. It is better to be safe before it is too late.

It SHOULD go down since its an older car, GTP versus GT is no difference in price for insurance purposes.

You would hate me for make wrong choice but I rather cheapest better.

There are 2 sexy Galaxy Silver cars.

1. 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix SE with cloth seat, no sunroof, 4 doors, paint tri-spoke and 3.1 engine.

2. 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP with leather seat, sunroof, 2 doors, high polish tri-spoke and 3.8 engine.

I like both cars. I have both of them to insurance to see how much it will cost me. They told me GTP cost few hundred over than SE model. I just like f**k that. I use SE model better since I like no sunroof (no worry for leaking), hate 2 doors because I have friends to hang out, and hate leather seat like too hot for summer or too cold for winter season. But I didn't say anything about engine because I never knew them very well yet. It was 2004 lol.

ive had alot tell me itll go up becuase of the supercharger and the GTP name. But if you dont mind may i ask you whats your insurance probider?

You are not alone. My insurance say same thing about SE with 3.1 engine vs. GTP with 3.8 supercharger engine. I'm from Ohio. I guess some other states don't need increase $ like base, gt, gtp model. Everywhere are different $$$$ depend on year, age, model, and maker. That's kind stupid I guess.

If I get Chevy Corvette. I bet it is double $ than GTP car.

Actually when you look at a VIN 97s and 98s come up as GTs. The insurance companys don't recognize a difference between the GTs and GTPs. Those models were considered GTs with a GTP package. Iirc 99 was the first year for a quote GTP. That's why early model GTPs were so cheap to insure compared to similar powered cars of the same period.


But for the OP based on age alone I'd say your insurance would either stay the same or drop. Due to the KBB value of the car.
