I was going to post this on the ZR1 thread, but not sure if it would get the attention. I always thought about see through projects, done one before with a sub enclosure. However, a car project has more elements the material is exposed to, heat, sun, rain, dirt, this and that. I noticed in the picture that ZR1 has a see through section on the hood. What material are they using, just piece of glass similar to a windshielf? It would be definitely custom to do on the gp! I do have a hood that I plan to make custom, jsut haven't decided on the scoop or design yet, this hood scoop project I've been keeping secret somewhat.

It isn't see-through per-se... It's an actual hole in the hood where the supercharger peeks out.

if you want something see through use lexan or plexi-glass
if you had the money you could get it vaccu-formed to a specific shape and then use it, you would just have to keep it clean and protected

i would use plexi-glass. If you remember Hector from Fast and The Furious, his golden-copper car had a clear hood. Looked really good. If you want to see what i'm talking about I think its the part where Brian (Paul Walker) goes to the first meet in the movie, where he races and loses. After he backs in his car Hector comes over and says hes going legit and yada yada. Point is, it looks good, especially if you have a nice clean engine bay.

Well, problem with our cars is transverse engines are asymmetrical. Unless you do a window insert across the whole hood, just doing one over the supercharger will make it look cross-eyed. RWD vehicles have the perks of a perfectly symmetrical engine bay.
