So all day at work today I couldn't wait to get out and go to the gym, planning on maxing on bench press today.
I starting working out 4-5 days a week back in September pretty hard with a buddy who got back from Africa, and once the gf broke up with me.
I've only benched twice in in the months from September till now, only doing other chest exercises.
I use to bench years ago with my best buddy, and maxed at 215lb once.
Well two weeks ago, I got 185lb up 10 time for two sets, and got 225lb up 3 times following those sets.
So today I wanted to hit 240-250.
I started with a plate on each side, 135lb.
Then I did 185lb, then 225lb, then I went for 245lb and got that rather easy.
My buddy spotting, said lets throw a 25lb on each side. I was like naw, lets just get 2.5lb on each side, make even 250lb.
He goes, well I am spotting, lets do 25lb.
So I throw up 275lb on bench !! WOOT!
I weigh in at 190ish.
Stoked.
The joke between us is if I was on some sort of juice, I would be one jacked looking dude.
I'm just on food and protein drink after workout!

Do you just bench or do you do a whole body workout?

I don't do any bench, mentioned that in the post.
My buddy doesn't care for it, so I usually don't do it. Do the machines or dumbells.
Like third time doing bench since starting back up in September.
It's nuts, everytime I go into the gym, or each week, I am throwing up more and more weight.

I like Muscle Milk Chocolate mixed with milk not water.
However, to save $10, I recently bought the Whey Protein at Walmart.
This past month I got on Creatine Xtreme, but I was doing pretty well before the creatine, not sure how much its helping since I don't drink as much water as I should.

Gotta drink lots of water if your doing the protein stuff... or you could set your self up for some kidney stones.

BTW good job!!!

Kidney stones already run in the family.
I haven't experience it yet, hope not to.
My dad's brother passes one like twice a month or something outrageous.

Creatine wont do nothing if you don't take in water accordingly.
Creatine basically holds water in the muscles and in order to see and keep the results you have to regularly take it with 8oz of water.

Frankly, you should drink 8 glasses of water a day, theoretically if your ever thirsty, then your dehydrated.

Kidney stones scare the crap out of me. I really hope to never have to deal with that.

My dads had one, and had to have surgery or something years ago.
He said while he was sleeping one night, he startingly woke up to what felt like someone thunked him hard in the testicles.
Said never ever want to go through the pain again. After the doctors removed it, they showed him the size of it, and he said he could barely see the darn thing in the doctors hand. Something that small caused sooo much pain.

protein for one does not give you kidney stones if you dont drink enough water....thats creatine...with creatine you need to make sure you drink enough water and dont take more then 5g in one day if your taking monohydride and you will be fine.....I actually like to take NO suppliments like blackpowder for a high energy pre workout and protein for a post workout drink.....also running before a heavy lifting session helps ur muscles loosen up more

I weigh 189
bench - 305 bar (115 lbs dumbels)
curl - 125
squats - around 300

PS - keep a little log of your weight and the weight ur lifting each week for progress
