Semi-metallics?
Ceramics are preferred.

When I put my ceramic pads on, I didn't use lube and it is completely quiet.

I wonder if it's the pads not the lube.

idk but it seems to only make the sound when its dry and really cold out....i no i dont have ceramics i thought u should only put ceramics on if u have new rotors? also sometimes it'll make like a deep (i dont wanna say grinding) but something along those lines of a sound...

It's the pads.
Semi-metallics are a hard pad. It's almost like having a couple of stones for brake pads.

Yes.

You shouldn't be doing anything to your rotors, ever. Only when they get warped or worn down from age and use, and then I would really recommend just replacing them, especially since the stock ones are really cheap.
