As we all have heard on the news and other outlets Pontiac is going bye bye, witch to me ..really sucks, Pontiac in the later years, had all the GM muscle, and I guess with the camaro comming out they cant have the G8 competing?? not sure of this, but ya do the math... and this is just what I think, at this time...so bobby dont go searching the net to prove me wrong,
anyway here is a video, that all true Pontiac fans will love

What are you talking about? I've heard nothing but rumors. Nothing about Pontiac future (or lack there of) has been decided, to my knowledge. They're considering making it a performance niche brand.

Only for sure divisions that are done are Saturn and Hummer.

GM has made no news other then they are looking at Pontiac being a "niche" brand with two to three vehicles.

Thanks Herc. I was going to say, if anyone has heard anything definite, then prove it, cuz I can't find anything.

I think three cars is perfect: Solstice GXP, G8, and a full-size (or mid-size? whatever) sports coupe. *cough*Firebird*cough*

I see something like this. Solstice, G8 and a G3 hot-hatch(think Cobalt SS) with a superior interior.

Okay I won't, but I would suggest you search the net to prove yourself to be right.

I have read rumor that GM may require dealers who presently carry Pontiac/GMC that they will be required to carry the Buick line as well. I suppose which dealers take on which lines and which fold up shop will depend on the dealership owners more than anything. I havent read anything saying Pontiac was to be eliminated.
Buick is huge in China and the new LaCrosse is on one of GMs global platforms, so I dont see that going away. The G8 will most likely wind up sharing components with that platform in the future or they will continue to produce in small numbers from Holden. I think we will see all the lines drop models to trim costs down but GMs overall future look I think is coming pretty plainly into view. I'm sure they want to keep Chevy as their brand in NASCAR, while Pontiac is their "upscale" racing image (Rolex, LeMans, GT) Buick will serve as their entry level luxury line with Caddy as the Flagship. Just like Herc mentioned, Hummer and Saturn are to be dumped with Chevy absorbing the economy and truck market.

Overall I think they have pretty sound plan of attack and are in a much better place to streamline than Chrysler, who is far too top heavy in V8/RWD and trucks/SUVs. Chrysler needs whole new models, not just a trim down.

Pontiac is staying around, just as a niche.
