Well i am having the chance to drive a Pontiac G6 Silver Coupe...not sure what year but it is very nice and the interior is amazing. The looks are great and the power is good. I'm having my car looked at by dealer (had 2 auto shops that couldnt identify issue...)...and now its at the dealer and they loaned me a nice car.

I once got a G6 GTP as a rental for two weeks (Company funded trip) I used all 245 horses quite often. I also work with 2 people who have the GT model. With my experience, and their knowledge, I would buy one. In fact, my daughter may get a car next year, I am looking at a G6, Cobalt or Saturn ION. It needs to be a 4 dr and have a large trunk. She plays Trombone and guitar for lots of school functions.

After countless hours of dealing with auto shops/dealers they've finally figured out the issue, it was a bad MAF Sensor and wiring harnesses are going bad or something like that...I will have to return the G6 here soon today but its been a fun time driving it but I def expected more from it.

When i test drove a G6 when i first considered getting rid of the GTP i didnt like it, i liked the look of the car, but the performance wasnt up to par for me, the G6 GTP only had a 3900 which i didnt like at all.

You gotta remember the G6 is the replacement for the Grand Am. What would you expect?

Cause GM thinks that if one model gets a special badge for performance that all the vehicles in the make should get the badge as well. See Chevy and the SS, Caddy and the "V", Buick with the Super, Saturn with the Redline and now Pontiac with the then GTP and now GXP.

The early run of G6s got the GTP name because they put a more powerful motor in. It still couldn't hang with the GP in performance. They have since dropped the GTP tag. Now they have the GXP tag which only has the 3.6L with 252 hp starting at 28k. Keep in mind the Camaro will price about the same and will have 300 hp in the RS and the base G8 gets you the same powerplant with RWD for a grand less. Or for 2k more you can get the GT with 361 hp.

This is on 87 Octane. GM says 400 HP with premium fuel and a PCM tweak.

overall I like the G6 a lot and if the convertible actually had some trunk space I would take one over my Sebring...shucks for that matter if the Solstice had some trunk I might opt for that one as well.
I noticed the "panorama" sunroof went away after only one year...I'm guessing it must have been problematic...too bad cuz if they offered that sunroof on the coupe that would have been pretty cool. I do like the styling of the G6 in both coupe and sedan and the GXP fascia is hot. All in all a very nice car...comfy interior and I love the telescoping wheel.
If I ever lost the T-Bat to some kind of disaster I would strongly consider a G6 coupe (maybe a manual trans model) cool devilgrin
