I have to write an auto paper on how a four-speed automatic works and how it goes through the gears, overdrive, etc. Basically how it works completely. Any input or links is greatly appreciated guys.

Lots of pic & one sound clip here:

http://picasaweb.google.com/72chevman/CarStuff

Clear coated original color (code 65 orange flame, not hugger or burnt) with touch of gold flake, black vinyl top
388 (.030 over 383) AFR heads, TH350, 2000 stall, 3.31 12 bolt
9.0 to 1 compression so it runs great on 87 octane
Edelbrock RPM intake and 750 AFB carb
Comp Cams 280H cam, Pete Jackson Gear Drive
Ceramic coated headers, 2.5 mandrel exhaust, H-pipe, dynomax ulta flows
I'm 2nd owner, bought in 1988 (53K miles 307-2 Brl, Power glide, 3.08 10 bolt)
Lowered 1" with HD sway bars, boxed control arms & anti-hop bars
17x8 & 17x9 wheels
Best 12.8 at 109 at 4000 pounds
I built it to drive not to race. Does a couple of parades each year.
This year hopefully 700R4 & Dakota Digital led tail lights

I heard that the dude who designed the automatic tranny ended up killing himself.
