so what's the difference between a T/A and a Firebird? is it just the engine size??? and what's the best engine to put into them? is it an LS1 or an LS7 or what?

If you know what the difference between the Camaro and the Z28 is, then you know the difference between the Firebird and T/A. Camaro/Firebird is more/less the base model while the Z28/TA is the performance models.

Same thing, it's all packages and appearance. WS6 was the suspension package on the 'bird, you can have a TransAM WS6 for instance. To add further confusion, CompGs come with the WS6 package. SS was the performance model of the Camaro. Z28 is a product code of the nicer V8 model I think, SS is above that. Never understood the Formula 'bird... other than it had a sleek, plain front.

LT1/LS1 are your stand small block V8.
LS7 is a 7.0L hand-built engine that is made in Wixom. It's the Z06 engine. No other car has one unless somebody bought just the motor and put it in another car themselves.
It's my favorite engine lol. Well, next to a 572...
