When I was looking for cars after destroying my beloved Beretta, I kept tellin the girl who would become my wife that I really wanted to drive a Pontiac for awhile to see if they really were that much better than Chevy.

The power, the styling, comfort, legacy/heritage, and potential for improving power is what drew me to Poncho. The GT was because I couldnt handle the power of the blower at the time. Man, I shoulda listened to my wife.

My grandpa bought the car new in 98 and sold it to my parents last May with 71K on the clock and no mechanical problems.

He had always bought from GM and my grandma was having no problems with her 95 GP so he traded in his 90 Bonneville for the new generation GP. After he sold the 98 to my parents he moved on to an 07 GP but this time went for the supercharged engine.

My parents gave me the car to drive but I pay for gas, insurance and maintenance myself. The thing I probably like most is the stance; even stock the car looks aggressive. Only thing I would improve is the power which is why I drool over every GTP that I see.

When my 1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme engine was gone bad but the previous owner abuse this engine lot (it look like it never change the oil or whatever reason) So I brought it for cheap price for last minute car shopping after I wrecked my 1st car. I saved it up for 3 years for trying to be patient to driving bad engine. I'm glad it is last for 3 years so the engine is getting worse so I decide time to get other used car. I looked at Hertz car sale. There are two 2003 silver 4 doors Grand Prix. One model have SE engine without sunroof and cloth seat. Other model have GT engine with sunroof and leather seat. I looked both of them. One thing it got my attention that SE engine is same look as my old Oldsmobile engine so I knew how to work on my car again. GT model turn me away because I don't like sunroof (heard lot of horror story about any car leaking from sunroof so I rather not get risky for that) and leather seat is too hot for sit on it during summer so I choose SE over GT.

It was either this or Neon. No way was I getting a base Neon. After I got it, I began to wish it was a GTP... then one day it suddenly turned into one.

I've always liked the way the 97-03 gp's looked. When I was shopping for my first car I couldnt find one I could afford. When that car crapped out, I found a red gp that was a little out of my price range on a dealer website. I went to go look at it hoping to talk them down. Sitting next to the the red gp was the car that I have now. When I saw it I knew that was the car I was going to buy.

First thing was the dual-dual tips. Walked over, saw the supercharged badge on the hood, and then found it was in my price range. Test drove it, and fell in love. smile

Well for me it had to be a black 2dr ,as far as the power train it did'nt matter as I believe in building cars as I like them and 4yrs later I'm still working on her and she'll probably never be completely done .Chico(pops)

The initial draw of the Grand Prix for me was the 3800 V6. After owning and driving different cars that were basically old hand-me-downs from my parents and worrying a little bit every day that the car might not start in the morning, I decided that when I bought a car I wanted one with an engine that would last a looooong time. I considered the different GM models with the 3800 V6 in them, and ultimately decided on the Grand Prix because of the look, handling, options, and everything else that I now love about my car. In 10 years or so when it's time to get another car, I'll most likely buy another Grand Prix. I'm hooked.

I have liked the 97-03 body style ever since it's release. When it came time to buy I took a test drive and between the interior space and the fact I could get the GTP for under 11k. I was sold.

I love the style I think it's timeless.

I wanted something quick, but convenient. And something i could drive everyday. I almost bought a T/A, but i realized it would suck in the winter and id probably have to get another car for a DD, so the GP was my first choice
