Only applies to those with V6s under seven years old or 150,000 miles. It doesn't even cover my fullsize truck that I had to have the top end rebuilt because dex ate my LIM gasket.

It says deadline is Oct 27 for submitting claims. Is that saying the owner of the vehicle submitting claims? Cause I will go to my mechanic and have him write out a bill for $600+ and submit it!!! And pay my mechanic some of that money.

I've still got my original coolant in the vehicle. If I go get it flushed, do you think they'd cover it?

I have leaking intake gasket for repair. It cost me for $1112.64. My model is 2003 3.1 engine. I still have paper from 10/5/06 in 74,703 miles. Do you think it will work?

Thanks.

Not sure how they come out with who gets what dollar amount but some info should follow soon as to how you go about placing a claim.

Well I'm one of the following becuase I had the LIM gasket replaced and water pump and coolant flush because of the dex-cool coolant.

I spent about almost 900 dollars in repairs and I have a 2002 grand prix 3.1.

hammer yeaaaaaaaa.

I don't see how to place a claim on that page so could I go to the dealership and file one.

"Under the agreement, GM will reimburse some of the cost for intake manifold gasket replacements, cooling system flushes and heater core repairs sought during the first seven years or 150,000 miles, whichever came first, that the class member owned the vehicle. Considering that some vehicles may have been sold and the new owners also paid for repairs alleged to have been caused by Dex-Cool, individual vehicles may generate more than one settlement."

I got mine repaired a year or so ago below the 7 years + 150k mark. I believe I qualify based on the above. I'm going to participate.

Hey, sorry if these sound like stupid questions, but I want to make sure I understand.

1. I spent $920 to have a non-GM mechanic replace my LIM gasket, which I had done due to a coolant leak. That's what this is talking about right?

2. Since it wasn't a GM mechanic, do I still qualify (since it's an 02 with less than 150,000 miles)?

3. How do I make a claim? lol

Google it. There is one place handling all the claims, but the amount reimbursed depends on how long after the owner got it that the gaskets took a dump and how much you paid. The most I saw getting a paid out was for either $400 or $800 if you spent over $1200 on the repair and it was within 5 years of original ownership. It went down drastically from there.

Who did the repairs doesn't matter, as long as you can supply proof of ownership and documentation.

Not only does that have for claim form, but it'll answer a few more questions too.

Sorry for the double post, but I've got another question...in the top left of the claim form, it says it can be submitted online...can anyone tell me how to do it online? I don't see how (although it's probably right in front of me). confused

So before I do this form. I had my car since december of 2004 and it had 69,000 miles on the car when I bought it. Now it has 166,000 miles on it and the repairs were done before the 150,000 miles which were for the LIM gasket and the coolant flush again because of the gunk that was in the engine oil.

I still qualify right, because the stuff were repaired before the 150,000 mile mark.

If your repair is done within the earlier of 7 years or 150,000 miles of your vehicle delivery date, and prior to May 30, 2008, you may be included in this settlement.
Yes, as long as you have proof of the repairs and proof of ownership.

Luckily, I still had my receipt in the door of my car. laugh

How do you think they would address a warrenty issue? I had a third party warrenty and my deductible was $100.00 but the cost for upper gaskets was $400+.

This was done 1.5 years ago also, can I now flush and go to green or am I still doomed to forever use the red? Coolant color is still decent and not gritty yet

If you completely flush the engine, radiator, and heater core, you can run whatever antifreeze you want.

How difficult is it to flush all of that?

Do to the disposal of the old fluid I just took mine to the shop and had it done.

Otherwise it's pretty easy just time consuming.

Basically drain the cooling system fill with fresh water circulate the coolant (either with a devise meant for flushing or run the motor)If the motor was used drain and repeat until all the color is gone. The machine the shop uses is faster. Then refill and burp with your favorite 50/50 mix.
