I'm heading to Ft Worth tomorrow at noon.
The wife works in mortage wholesale and her and her friend scored some choice tickets for the race, through Wells Fargo. We get the whole hospitality thing, free food & drinks including beer, Breakfast at 8:00am, meet-n-greet with Kyle Petty from 10:00-10:30, lunch at 11:15. Grandstand seating, 9th row down from the top in the last part of the tri-oval ($130 face value on all 6 tix).
There are a couple of chance for pit road/garage tours, but I may pass on those, it depends on how much time we have.
I've got the batteries in my camera charged up and ready to go.

I just think its sad that all the marques dont get a chance in NASCAR...I thought it was more interesting when they actually used the metal bodies from real production cars. The only way you can tell the difference now is the paint job.

Anyways, gladyou could score some seats and enjoy the event...remember your ear muffs!

Beutiful pics.

I'm jealous.

Tbat I'm with you on the cars. NASCAR isn't about all out speed anymore just look at the "Car of Tomarrow". With all the advances in safety technology I think they should go back more to their roots and run actual production bodies. The "Win on sunday sell on monday" will return.

But at the same time the auto makers are slowly getting out of the race support.

There's no more Pontiacs, Buicks, Mercurys, Chryslers because the cost to help develop products for racing isn't there and what little income they do get needs to go to something that will make a bigger impact. Once the makers get off of their economic death beds things might change until then...

But for those who are interested in real "stock" car racing you still have the SCCA. Unfortunately they don't get the coverage of the other racing venues.

Camera is a nothing special Kodak Z730. No zoom lens attachment, just the zoom that's on the camera (4x optical).
It's not so much what camera you're using, it's knowing how to use the camera you have.

Funny thing is, I think the wife may be hooked.
I knew Steve Austin was going to give the command, so when they started to introduce him I looked at the wife and sad "Here it comes!" She looked at me and said "What... What are you talking about?" About that time a lone engine fired up and then the rest followed suit. Here eyes opened wide and she smiled. I told her "And that's just at idle."
When the field screamed by us as the flag was dropped, we both started yelling "WOO HOO!", and the first wreck on the 1 lap mark was just icing on the cake for her. She wants to go back in November. laugh

BTW... the new Camaro was on display at the Chevy display. I did get pics of it but I haven't had time to tweak on them yet.

nice pictures, I'm sure you had a blast. It was a great race to watch on hd, esp when a hendrick car didn't win. I watch nascar like I watch a yankee game, anybody but the yanks and anybody but hendricks cars. lol
