Henry Ford always circled his problems.

I would never own another Ford in my life....

My teacher in the Auto shop was building a Fox Body Stang with a Chevy small block in it. He always used to say "Built Ford tough with Chevy Stuff."

I've had one Chevy...a Silverado extended cab, and in the one year I kept it I had to have three different front suspension pieces replaced. I personally think thats shameful for 2WD truck with less than 20k miles.

On top of that I havent seen very many Chevys in my life that I didnt think were just bland and dull.

I also had an85 Ford Bronco that was virtually indestructable. It was thirsty, but aside from that it simply just kept running no matter what.

I also had a 91 Taurus SHO...lots of little nagging fixes but the car did have 100k on the clock...but it ran like rocket. My Ford Probe was another car that took all I threw at it but I dont really count that as real Ford since it had a Mazda engine.

The landscape for my future in the car world doesnt look bright. Chrysler is still in bad straits and Pontiac has fallen under the axe. Caddys and Buicks are not my speed and not much under the Blue Oval has snagged my eye.
Bah-Humbug!

My dad has had a 92 chevy silverado (from 50K-160K) and now has a 2001 silverado (50K-present, like 75 or 80K) and outside of regular maintenance has put in somewhere between $500-700 total in repairs in the last 15 years into those two trucks. For an everyday driver he will never buy anything but a silverado. My mom's chevy venture just sold with 200K on the clock, only problems were going through a few head gaskets and a tranny update. My GP has been great outside of electrical problems.
We've had good luck with gm cars in the family, hoping they turn things around because ford is definitely winning the domestic battle right now
